Finally, the old lady put the bottle in the bin with the help of the the girl. It is a symbol of loving others, we should try to help others as much as we can.

In this story, the girl and the old judge help each other as well. The girl has a boyfriend who is working in another city and can not give her the loving and care in time which makes her lonely at nights.

And the retired judge had betrayed by his lover when he was young, which made him do not trust people any more. He listens neighbour’s phones to get rid of the boredom of life.

Until one day, a connection was made. The girl rescured his dog and send the dog back to the old judge, she found out the secret of judge and does not understand this behaviour.

However, the judge said he does not go harmful things to them. A special relationship develops between these two stamgers along time, the girl sometimes visit the judge and the judge told her his life stories, he let girl stay still to wait, waiting for the moment that sun shining on both of them, a divine and purified moment which made the life become more serine. He wants the girl to find courage and faith back when her boyfriend suspects and eventually left her.

Another figure in this film who is a young scholar also experiences the same suffering--betrayed by the loved one, even more cruelly-- witnessing her make love with another man in bed.

He lives in the same neighbourhood with the girl, they never met each other even though their apartments just locate on the two sides of the street. The same suffering is the connection they have, even if they do not know each other’s existence.

The girl decides to set off to a new land on the ship to start a life once again after the heartbroken breakup. on the same ship, another passenger exactly the young scholar.

Heavy rain pouring down on the screen, like an omen, symbolize the final judgement from Bible. The ship gets wretchcrach, and the judge watches this tragic news on TV, there are only seven people survive--including the girl and the scholar. Therefore, they are the survivors after the attacks of life, they can be anyone of us who live lives with numerous tests and tears, storms and disasters. However, no matter how we suffer, how we get frustrated by ill fate, God is still willing to forgive us, comfort us and give us a new life after the final judgement.

Red is the colour that symbolize the universal love or Philanthropy in the French flag. In this film, the director develops a story about this theme, we are getting hurt by our loved ones, however, God give us another chance to start life again.

At last, the dog who was saved by the girl gave birth to five cubs and become a mom, the old judge hold those cute puppies and kissed them, he is also chosen by God to be blessed and pick up the ability to love others once again.
